miniTG
The miniTG is a portable technical ground for your stereo and computer components. The miniTG can absorb stray RF/EMR floating around the component, ground the chassis, and provide a method to reduce circuit hum. Compact and easy to use, it helps improve audio clarity and system stability by minimizing unwanted interference and noise.
Utilising our EVO II absorption ceramic, we have implemented a 6N copper ground plane and brass hardware to optimise conductive performance. The EVO II absorption ceramic incorporates 23 distinct elements specifically designed to improve ground saturation and facilitate ionic conversion.
Each miniTG includes a complementary 0.75m AudioQuest ground cable for basic installation; ground cables from other manufacturers are also compatible.
How to use as a portable unconnected grounding device:
- Place next to component on the power supply/transformer side.
- Place overtop of sensitive digital circuits.
How to use as a portable connected grounding device:
- Loosen chassis screw near power entry to attach AudioQuest ground cable. Attach the other end of the ground cable to the brass binging post of the miniTG. Finger tight the brass nut is all that is required.
Purchase aftermarket ground cables or connectors:
- AC to USB A Connector: Remove the AC male plug from the cable. Carefully strip off one inch of the outer jacket insulation. Twist the exposed wire strands together. Loosen the nut on the miniTG binding post to reveal the center wire hole. Insert the prepared USB cable into the hole and wrap any remaining wire clockwise around the post. Secure the ground nut by tightening it by hand. Insert the USB A connector into an available USB port on your laptop or PC.
- Attach the spade connector of the AudioQuest cable to the ground terminal of an AC male plug and tighten the ground screw to secure the connection. Connect the opposite end of the AudioQuest cable to the miniTG grounding post. Plug the AC male plug into a nearby wall outlet located close to the A/V system.
Please note that aftermarket ground cables ranging from 18 gauge to 10 gauge are compatible.
Size: 7.6" x 4.6" x 2.2" (194 x 117 x 57 mm.)
“I am seriously impressed by the new Mini TG. I thought I was already at a place of low noise in my system but as soon as I connected it I got an even blacker background. Jet black background. Even better separation of voices & instruments and layering in the soundstage with more depth. Increased resolution across the entire audio spectrum. Sparkle in the top end, 2nd harmonics in the midrange, and bass clarity was clearly effected. Listening to bass lines is even more enjoyable because of the definition. Whether it be a kick drum, pluck of an acoustic bass, or slapping electric bass the experience seems more life-like. There’s also an increase in attack that causes instruments to sound more realistic and less virtual. With 2-channel speakers the sound has even more of that surround sound effect and a three dimensional depth of field where sounds seem to be coming outside of the front of the speaker driver either to the left or the right. Headphones have a surround sound effect where you get engulfed in the music. This is great for both audiophiles and videophiles who enjoy movies with surround sound or desire to have an immersive experience with 2 channels. I’d also recommend for anyone who already has a normal size TG to move that as close as possible to their electrical panel and use the Mini TG in their audio system. I’m using a TG at the panel, a 2nd one in the audio room plugged into separate outlet on the same circuit but thirdly the Mini TG directly at the audio outlet and it pushed the system to a further level of performance and lower noise. Adding the Mini TG even impacted my 2-channel systems on one of my TV’s that’s QD-MiniLED. It gave me improved sharpness without adjusting the setting, improved contrast and depth. I can also hear it working audio wise with a more holographic sound presentation on this different electrical circuit. Action movies look and sound quality obviously improved where the sound is immersive and three dimensional on just 2-channels. I don’t know how you’re doing it Alan but it sure works!” -David Robbins
"So, the ground box has hidden talents.
I was wanting to test its ability to suck up EMR in proximity to devices, as I know the design isn't that far off from a Breeze etc.
In front of my Estoteric streamer/dac/preamp unconnected
I was ultimately going to put it on top between the two clock boxes, but I put it in front as I didn't have time to listen
Over a few days, I started to really groove on the sound, just with TV and other non-critical listening
Midrange became open very clear, removed roughness around clarinets, vocals, added depth spaciousness, even increased bass, cleaned and opened up treble a lot.
There are two transformers in unit left and right in front.
Next is to try it on top near back where digital circuitry lives. And where I would put it to connect it to ground." -John Hughes
